Greg Wessling,
Chief Operating Officer
Greg Wessling has been a part of successful business ventures for more than 40 years. His experience in executive merchandising, marketing and operating positions provide a broad range of skills available to tackle complicated business issues in the global marketplace. These experiences have included ventures from start up to corporations among the Fortune 50.
In 1972, Wessling began a career in retailing, working for North Carolina based Lowe’s Companies, Inc. This original small chain of lumber yards emerged in the early 1990’s as one of the most dynamic merchandising and marketing stories in business history. A team of six Lowe’s executives, including Wessling, led this business transformation, at a time when the retail industry was in a redefinition process. What emerged was the Lowe’s chain of Home Improvement stores today, a NYSE public company, with operations throughout North America.
Over the years, until Greg retired from Lowe’s in 2005, he was privileged to serve in many executive leadership roles, including store operations, marketing and merchandising. He helped build Lowe’s manufacturing and distribution networks, helped found Lowe’s Global Sourcing ventures and served on executive teams that led innovation in human resource, personnel training, product development and state of the art operating practices.
Greg Wessling is currently EVP and Chief Operating Officer for the Morris Group. In addition to operating responsibility for all of the Morris Companies, he works closely with Sid Morris, President and Founder, in developing new ventures for the firm.
Wessling holds business degrees from UNC-Chapel Hill and Wake Forest University. He remains active on school business boards, and with charitable organizations.
